Mr. May brings to our company an extensive knowledge of fire investigations. He
earned a bachelor of science degree in fire and safety engineering from Eastern Kentucky University, an
associate's degree in law enforcement from Vincennes University, and has been associated with the fire service for 21 years.
Prior to joining Barker &
Herbert Analytical Laboratories, Inc., he was a special investigator with a major insurance company for
seven years. He has been with Barker & Herbert since 1991.
Mr. May is a certified State of Indiana
master firefighter, instructor and investigator. He was appointed to the State of Indiana Firefighting Professional Standards Board's task force to establish and validate Indiana’s acceptance of NFPA 1033
professional qualifications for fire investigators.
Mr. May is our most sought-after lecturer. He has taught seminars throughout the United States on various topics such as manufactured home fires, tools of the trade, and appliance fires. Mr. May also lectures on expert testimony for fire investigators. He is a recognized expert witness in state and federal courts throughout the United States.
